Gold Standard Site

Hodges Village Dam

Hodges Village Dam, MA

Hodges Village Dam was awarded Gold Standard Site designation in 2025. Hodges Village Dam earned the recognition for its role as a leader in promoting responsible enjoyment in the great outdoors, making it the first U.S. Army Corps of Engineers site to achieve the designation.

“We’re beyond happy to reach the Gold Standard designation. Being able to implement Leave No Trace principlss in our everyday work is something to strive for. Not just for the U.S. Army Corps, but for the public who come to enjoy our space,” said Briana Johnson, Natural Resource Specialist, Park Ranger, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. “Its about leading by example. We rangers care for our site, and this was another way to show folks that we’re out there, and we’re trying to preserve what we have so that we can still enjoy it down the line. We can’t ask others to minimize their impacts if we aren’t putting in the work to minimize them ourselves.”
