Leave No Trace Level 1 Instructor Course

Join 2nd Nature TREC as we work together to enhance the reach of sustainable recreation practices and Leave No Trace educational efforts during this two-day course. Participants will learn about and practice teaching the Leave No Trace Seven Principles in both classroom and outdoor settings, developing useful skills in both minimal-impact outdoor recreation and teaching/communication techniques. Upon completion, participants will be certified Leave No Trace Level 1 Instructors, qualifying them to lead Leave No Trace Skills Courses and Workshops and educate others about best practices for minimum-footprint outdoor experiences.

2nd Nature TREC is also offering a Wilderness First Aid and Night Hike Leader Course in the days leading up to the Leave No Trace Level 1 Instructor Course. These training hours will count towards the Environmental Education certification through the state of North Carolina. Onsite camping is available.
