Jess The Maker

Mountain Biker + Comedian

Hi, I’m Jess The Maker—a mountain biker, comedian, and content creator passionate about making the outdoors more fun, welcoming, and accessible. I came to outdoor recreation later in life, which drives my mission to break down barriers and help more people feel like they belong outside. Whether I’m riding trails, creating reels, or cracking a joke mid-climb, I believe in leaving every place—and person—better than we found them. As a Leave No Trace ambassador, I’m committed to protecting the spaces we love and encouraging others to adventure with care, curiosity, and respect.

Why did you become a Leave No Trace Ambassador?

I want to set a better example—for my community and for myself. As someone who spends a lot of time on trails and encourages others to do the same, I feel a responsibility to help protect these spaces. This role is a chance for me to grow as a trail steward, deepen my understanding, and share that knowledge in a fun and approachable way. I believe that small actions add up, and by modeling care and respect for the outdoors, we can help keep these places thriving for everyone.

Why is environmental conservation important to you?

To me, Leave No Trace means showing up with care and respect—for the land and for the people who share it. It’s not about being perfect, but about being mindful of our impact and doing our part to protect the places that bring us joy. Whether it’s picking up trash, staying on trail, or setting an example for others, stewardship is how we say thank you to the outdoors. It’s how we make sure these spaces stay wild, beautiful, and welcoming for everyone—now and in the future.

What is Your Favorite Way To Get Outside?

My favorite way to get outside is mountain biking. I love the challenge—the technical climbs, fast descents, and problem-solving—but most of all, I love how much fun it is to play on bikes. Being out on the trails, surrounded by nature, feels freeing and joyful. Every ride is a mix of adventure and pure enjoyment, and no matter how intense or lighthearted the ride, it always leaves me with a smile—and usually a snack.
