Join Leave No Trace at Coyote Ridge Open Space, CO – October 10-12 2025

Each year we hand-select nominated outdoor spaces that need our collective care and attention. By designating them as Spotlights, we’re rallying the local community to step up, join forces with Leave No Trace, and make a meaningful impact that can revitalize and protect these special places where we recreate, enjoy one another’s company, and elevate our health physically, mentally and emotionally.

Coyote Ridge Open Space has been selected as a 2025 Leave No Trace Spotlight. Leave No Trace will be at Coyote Ridge Open Space during October 10-12, collaborating with hosts and partners on a variety of programs including stewardship projects, workshops, and community outreach.

Opportunities to Get Involved:

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 11:

Leave No Trace Pop-up Education & Outreach, 10:00 am -1:00 pm, Superior South Pool, 3300 Huron Peak Ave, Superior, CO

Come out to Coyote Ridge Open Space and connect with staff from Leave No Trace, Town of Superior Parks, Recreation, & Open Space, and local partners to enjoy quick games and family-friendly outreach and educational activities that make it easy and exciting to discover how you can help keep the area beautiful and thriving. Learn simple ways to keep our open spaces clean, be a good steward, and protect wildlife and nature all around us.

This event will also include a short guided hike at 11:00 am, starting from the South Pool area.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 12:

Volunteer Trail Workday at Coyote Ridge Open Space, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm, Meet at Superior South Pool facility, 3300 Huron Peak Ave, Superior, CO

Give back to your local parks and open spaces by volunteering for a fun and rewarding hands-on volunteer project including trail maintenance and related restoration work. Along the way, get an introduction to Leave No Trace and learn how simple actions can help protect our trails and open space for generations to come. Please bring water, snacks, sunscreen, and wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. Advance sign-up is strongly encouraged.
